Eye Clinic (Someshwar, Almora, Uttarakhand)
The Prem Rawat Foundation, Prem Sagar Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender jointly organized a Free Eye Clinic in Gyanoday Junior High School, Someshwar, District Almora, Uttarakhand on 3rd and 4th Dec 2016.
Eyes of 1241 persons were examined in the camp out of which 739 persons were provided free spectacles. 2100 eye drop units were given free after examine of their eyes.
As a result of testing of eyes, 291 cases of cataract were detected. They were suggested to take further treatment in Govt. hospitals. The beneficiaries of clinic were mostly from economically poor sector of society.
Dr Ramesh Chandra Pant, Chief Medical Officer, Almora inaugurated the clinic and congratulated the doctors and Project Manager and everyone who assisted the project for their commendable efforts.
Dr. G B Bisht and Dr. K S Datal tested the eyes on both days and had a continuous busy time from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There were five refractionists namely Mr. K K Bharadwaj, Mr. Naveen Chand Pandey, Mr Gopesh Joshi,
Mr. Ramesh Joshi and Mr. Barkat Ali who helped the doctors.
The clinic covered the population of 6 villages situated around a radius of 15 km from the clinic site. People were highly satisfied and praised the efforts and sincerity of volunteers.
Shankar Goswami, Secretary Business Association said, “It’s very satisfying to see the Foundations’ dedication to serve people and even I am interested to join them for social services.”
Nandan Bora from Someshwar gave his best wishes to Prem Rawat Foundation and other organizations and expressed his wish that such kind of clinics should be organized every year.
