Eye Clinic (Alwar, Rajasthan)
The Prem Rawat Foundation, Premsaagar Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender jointly organized a Free Eye Clinic at village Bairawas, Tehsil Kotkasim, district Alwar Rajasthan on 21st and 22nd Nov 2015.
A free eye clinic was held on 21st and 22nd Nov 2015 at Govt. Middle School of village Bairawas, Tehsil Kokasim, district Alwar Rajasthan under joint effort of The Prem Rawat Foundation, Premsagar Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender.
In all, eyes of 747 people were examined in the clinic by experienced doctors and eye surgeons. As a result of examination of eyes, 406 people were provided free spectacles of prescribed power and required medicines. 431 eye drop units and 253 tablets were distributed to people according to their need. Also, 209 people were detected to be suffering from cataract in their eyes and they were advised to attend govt. hospital for further treatment of their eyes.
Eye clinic was inaugurated by Mr.Balwant Singh Tirki, SDM District Alwar. In his opening address, he said that foundations are doing very appreciable service in public interest for the poor villagers, in true sense, it’s a divine blessing.
The clinic worked from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on both days. 52 volunteers were engaged to help the clinic work. Dr.Suresh Gupta and Dr.Manoj Pathak examined the eyes, assisted by 5 refractionists – Mr. Jai Singh, Mr. Manoj Saini, Mr. Jitin, Ms. Anita and Mr. Naveen. The clinic covered an area around a radius of 12 kms from the venue, covering 6 villages. The attendees came from the villages; they were basically agriculture laborers and poor farmers.
In general all beneficiaries, doctors, staff and volunteers expressed their gratitude and satisfaction and appreciated the successful program of Eye clinic.
