Eye Clinic (Purulia, West Bengal)
The Prem Rawat Foundation, Prem Sagar Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender jointly organized a Free Eye Clinic in Village Banda, Moutorh, District Purulia, West Bengal on 19th and 20th December 2015.
Dr Sudarshan Kumar, DVC Hospital, Chandrapura inaugurated the clinic.
Eyes of 1513 persons were examined in the camp out of which 1319 persons were provided free spectacles. Eye drop units were prescribed to 1134 persons. As a result of testing of eyes 88 cases of cataract were suggested to further take treatment in Govt Eye Hospital.
Dr. Nitesh Kumar tested the eyes on both days and had a continuous busy ?me from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There were five refractionists — Mr. Ajit Kumar, Mr. Lavkesh Singh, Mr. Gopal Krishna, Mr Praveen Ranjan, Mr Partho Chaterjee and Mr. Abhishek Mishra who helped the doctors.
The clinic covered the population of 45 villages situated around a radius of 25 km from the clinic site. People were highly satisfied and praised the efforts and sincerity of volunteers.
Mr. Kumar Gaurav and Mr Moti Lal Mahto, the Project Managers were assisted by two supervisors – Ms Moni Yadav and Ms Durga Kumari along with 48 seva personnel.
Dr B Sudershan, the chief guest said that that the gathering was huge apart from appreciating that the arrangements have been very nice. Each doctor and refractionist was given a separate room, medicine and specs dispensing course was very appropriately managed.
