Nautad Village, Uttarakhand
Cloud burst at around midnight in village Nautad, Tehri, Uttarakhand. The water level in the river started rising abruptly and forcefully. Around 1.55 pm the river started flowing to its full with gushing and roaring mercilessly causing flood havoc all around bringing down the houses to the rubbles and in turn accumulating debris everywhere. People started running away from the clutches of the icy hands ruining the roads by felling heavy and large stones from up the hills. About six people lost their lives for none of their faults. Many families were worst affected due to this cloud burst at such an unexpected dark hours.
Local affected people informed about this calamity to Raj Vidya Kender, New Delhi. Within moments The Prem Rawat Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender jointly put their efforts and managed the basic needs like utensils to cook food, cereals and grains etc., blankets, financial aid and all other desired requirements were fulfilled to those in sufferings on the site itself at an earliest.
The Hindi daily “Dainik Jagaran” also reported about the aid and help extended by TPRF and RVK, New Delhi. People of the village felt obliged and more than that a silver lining in the form of smile was the reward for the volunteers and the organizations that extended all the possible humanitarian support.
